If your 2020 goals focus on Fatigue Risk Management for your helicopter operation, then the HELI-EXPO is the place to be! Hosted by Helicopter Association International, the HELI-EXPO is the world's largest helicopter tradeshow and exposition, and there are several chances to ask Dr. Daniel Mollicone of Pulsar Informatics your fatigue risk management questions.

First up is an education course that begins Sunday at 8 AM. During the Proactive Fatigue Risk Management for Helicopter Operations course, Daniel will describe the scientific background of fatigue, data relating fatigue to safety outcomes, and case studies with lessons learned.

Proactive Fatigue Risk Management for Helicopter Operations

This course will focus on proactive fatigue risk management for all members of flight operations. Topics include sources and consequences of fatigue in occupational settings, recommended practices for fatigue risk management, and recent technological advances in the field. This course will describe the scientific background of fatigue, data relating fatigue to safety outcomes, and case studies with lessons learned.

Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of the course, participants will learn:

  • To understand the operational causes of fatigue
  • Different ways to track and mitigate fatigue
  • Industry benchmarks related to fatigue risk
  • How to set effective thresholds to trigger fatigue mitigation workflows

Date: Sunday, January 26 | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Track(s): Safety
Location: Anaheim Convention Center
Instructor: Dr. Daniel Mollicone, Pulsar Informatics, Inc.

Then on Tuesday at 2:30 PM, Daniel will present the session, Fitness for Duty: Fatigue in Helicopter Operations. The presentation will demonstrate tools to assess fatigue risk and establish company policies to manage fatigue risk; and approaches to provide an objective quantitative framework to evaluate fitness for duty. These proactive approaches involve identifying fatigue risk against thresholds, proactive mitigation strategies, and linking fatigue information to FRAT/SMS systems.

Lastly, visit us on the exhibition floor. Stop by booth #5509 to receive a one-on-one demo of our fatigue risk management tools. Whether you are just starting out with managing fatigue risk in you operation or looking to refine your policies and procedures, we are happy to help guide you through your next steps.
