Dr. Mollicone will present updates related to Fatigue Risk Management research. Data will be presented from a recent large sample study that quantified the extent to which fatigue was a measurable hazard in aviation maintenance operations. In this study the risk of employee injury was examined relative to leading indicators of fatigue risk based on employee work rest patterns. The results indicated that fatigue is a pervasive systematic hazard in aviation maintenance operations.

At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify sources of fatigue risk in occupational settings, and
  • Understand validated approached to quantify fatigue risk in occupational settings.
